Kearns has earned a following on his own, as well, forging a much smaller career as a solo artist without benefit of any solo recordings thus far. He's able to call all the shots in his solo concerts, with fans adoring his treatments of warm, emotional traditional Irish songs which, he says, he's loved since he was a "tiny grasshopper." Kearns performs his second Lubbock concert Feb. 28. Entertainment Editor William Kerns spoke to Kearns about the foucs and drive that found the vocalist doring whatever it took to earn exposure--even if it meant performing a vital audition over the telephone. |
