Kearns has earned a following on his own, as well, forging a much smaller career as a solo artist without benefit of any solo recordings thus far. He's able to call all the shots in his solo concerts, with fans adoring his treatments of warm, emotional traditional Irish songs which, he says, he's loved since he was a "tiny grasshopper."
